Maternity Photographer, Delmar New York. Laura's Maternity Photo Session

I often say this, but I believe this was my all time favorite maternity sessions ever. I had a strong vision, I was feeling creative, I had a perfectly modelesque subject and at the last minute I found a quite unlikely location that simply spoke to me. It was a perfect package and everything fell together as if it was meant to be!

Laura met me at my home and we began there. The images were lovely but I was too excited to stay there for very long- the second location was beckoning me :-)

So you will quickly see why I was so obsessed with this location...

Laura, you are simply radiant!! Thank you for spending time with me the other day and I wish you nothing but the best with your new little one :-)

LeHockey Family (part one); Albany New York Newborn and Family Photography

I've worked with this family twice before and if you've been following my work for a while now you may recognize the photo below on the left. Since dad is a firefighter, it just makes perfect sense to keep up with the fire "theme" we started back when Naomi was a newborn. So I photographed new baby Dylan in a similar fashion. Being a part of a firefighting family, these photos are very close to my heart!

Can you believe how much she's grown?!? So adorable!

It doesn't get much cuter than itty bitty baby parts :-)

I love these relaxed family photos- really capturing everyone's personality and they're just so fun!

See you in a few weeks--looking forward to photographing you in your home!

In My Own Words- I'm giving up on being weird.

No matter how "weird" I want to be, I'm coming to the sad realization that I'm really just NORMAL.

I floss, I eat lunch at noon, I sometimes find my radio station tuned to the "easy listening station".
I wear TOMS, tank tops and a lot of black,
but don't we all?

I'm not a hipster or a bohemian, I'm not a shabby chic girlie girl, and I'm not a punk rocker. Though I have been known to sport a strand of color in my hair--gasp the unconformity!!!
Well actually quite conforming so strike that.

I'm a wanna be green hippy who loves White House Black Market and Louis Vuitton - sue me.
I light incense, I smudge, I drink green juice, I buy local and organic. I rarely eat meat, I practice yoga and meditate. I love NYC and when I drink champagne it's only Veuve de Clicot.

As far as my photography goes---

I dont have a catchy name that can be spelled by using a symbol on the keyboard.

I don't go to far off lands photographing third world countries in order to raise funds for a charitable cause.

I dont have a heart wrenching story about how I used photography to heal myself from a tragedy and that's how I got into business.

I didn't go to a fancy art school and learn art theory, composition and color.

I dont follow the photography rules, because I dont know what they are.

I had a baby and she inspired me. I documented her daily life for 6 months while my husband was in the police academy. His heart broke that he missed those precious first days. And during that time I learned that I loved photography, I was good at it and I never looked back.

But I'll be the first to admit, I use my camera phone and Instagram far more often than my Nikon!

Albany New York Boudoir Photography

Eileen and I had been discussing her photo session for months before it happened!! These sessions can sometimes take time but this was definitely worth the wait!

I had Brittany back in my studio flexing her hair and makeup muscles and the result was fantastic! These sessions are so much fun!! A couple hours of Beauty By Brittany, some music, some wine, snacks and conversation-it's like a girls day with friends!

Let's start out with a quick before and after shot. The before shot was sent to me by Eileen the day after her session because I forgot to get one myself. She's gorgeous to begin with, but I always love to see the transformation so here's a look:

And from there we had a simply amazing session!!

Thanks Eileen for spending the day with Britt and me- we had a blast!
