If you have been following my work for a while now or know me personally, you already know that I love "lake life". I grew up spending summers at my Grandparent's lake house, which the family called, "The Farm". Some of the fondest memories I have of my childhood are at that house with my abundant family. Swimming, making ice cream from scratch, playing Chinese checkers and riding the blue "tractor" from the house to the beach.
Now as an adult I still spend much of my summer time up in the Adirondacks on a lake. It suits me, I feel at home near a lake. So when I heard about this wedding I immediately felt comfortable, excited, "at home". It was to be held at Lanzi's on the Lake, a popular restaurant on Sacandaga and the wedding theme was quite nautical--right up my alley! The ceremony was on the lawn, overlooking the lake and the guys were arriving on a boat--all of this was exactly the story of my wedding almost 10 years ago. Just perfect!
I met Kellen at a cabin in Northville where she was preparing for her big day, surrounded by her family on a gorgeous, warm fall-like day.
Kellen was such a beautiful bride and the scenery was stunning! I could have spent all afternoon photographing her by the lake!
Even though AJ and Kellen spent the morning together at the cabin where they both got ready, the decided to do a first look and see each other all dressed for the first time before the ceremony.
That's one good looking bridal party if you ask me!! Check out the baby face on the best man :-) (That's my cousin--the youngest of my family--for those of you who don't know!) This group was so nice easy and fun to work with!
AJ and Kellen have a son, Wyatt who is just as cute as can be!!! Look at him all dressed up in his tux (though I think the cowboy boots and pj's he had earlier were just as cute too!)
The boys decided to take AJ's boat from the cabin to the ceremony and I got to tag along! Now that was a fun ride! We even found some familiar faces along the way who were also headed to the ceremony!
Then it was ceremony time. It was very emotional, loving and light hearted all at the same time. Wyatt in the wagon though, I think stole the show :)
And who doesn't love long docks over a beautiful lake?!? Those clouds were absolutely gorgeous and the perfect setting for AJ and Kellen's post ceremony session!
The reception details were GREAT! Deep blue, nautical, Adirondack style- I loved their take on the "Guest book" as well-- Oars!!
This next ring shot may be my favorite of all time!!! ACK I'm in love!!
A few dances, and one last group shot of the Haas Posse and the night was over already! What a wonderful day!
Thank you AJ and Kellen for including me into your big day. I wish you both the very best!
