In My Own Words- How a summer girl embraced the snow. Albany New York Photography

There is something magical about snow.

Don't get me wrong- I am a summertime gal at heart! Give me a lake, some blistering heat and a frosty beverage and I'm a happy chick.

But as I sit here in my kitchen and watch my girls peer out the window as the first snowflakes appear, I can't help but share in their excitement. I will go back to longing for spring tomorrow, but for now I have big plans for snow pants, hot cocoa (ah-hem wine?) by the fire and family time.
It's easy to get frantic- how will I get to the store and buy the Nutella? What about my big plans for Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond shopping tomorrow?

Slow down, take this storm as an excuse to put all aside, watch the snow cover the ground and breathe. Tomorrow we'll all dig out and life will go on as planned, but today--
it's beautiful.
