Naomi ~ Newborn Photography

Again, I apologize to everyone else for editing my sessions out of order, but I'm sure that Tim and Orah will not mind in the least! You see, I'm away from home and I thought I left all my work there (I thought I was going to have to take a forced vacation from editing). But I happend to find a memory card with all the images from this newborn session I did last week! YAY I get to do some work!! Anyone who knows me will vouch that I'm being totally serious and not sarcastic at all...I really do love working!

You'll also notice a different watermark than I typically use, again it's simply because I'm away from most of my files including my logo file. So no, I'm not changing my logo again :-)

This session was typical- WIDE awake baby for much of the time and finally, at the very end, we got her to sleep (for a while just before she woke right up again). There was lots of feeding, diaper changing, rocking, time and patience...that's the key to a newborn session!!

ooop- there's a yawn- she's getting sleepy!

And another yawn but still hanging in there!

Here are a few outtakes I took while we were attempting to get Naomi to sleep

ahhhhhhhh yes- she's finally out like a light!

And being so patient totally paid off. We got amazing shots like this one:

And this next one which was very special to them because Naomi's daddy is a firefighter. This may be one of my favorite shots of all time- little baby in the fire hat!

A few more sleeping baby shots and some great stuff of the new family of three in some nice natural window light.

Then we went for one more posed sleeping baby shot and she decided her modeling debut was over. She did a great job though don't you think??

Welcome to the world baby Naomi! :-)

Cuteness of a PUPPY kind!!

Becky contacted me about doing a session with just her and her mom in Washington Park. Great idea, right?? Well the day of her session the temperature was about 100 degrees in the shade and none of us wanted any part of that :-)

So we met near by to do the first half of the session with the doggies. They were hot as well but just as cute as could be and these ladies obviously love their puppies!!

When we all had just about all the heat we could handle Becky, her mom and I went back to my house to finish up the session in the air conditioning! These two are such a great mother/daughter pair. Silly and goofy but very sweet and loving as well. These photos totally capture how they interact and get along!

Thanks for stopping by :-)

The May Family at Five Rivers ~Family Photography

It has been quite a while since I've held a session at Five Rivers and it was so nice to be back! I love doing family sessions there, just walking the Beaver Tree Trail, it's fun for everyone (including me)!
So Kristen and I have been trying to get her session scheduled for a very long time now and we finally found a date that matched up. I'm so glad we did- these two little girls were to die for adorable and we had such a great session!

Gotta be just like her big sis!!

Sara and Brent~ Lakeside Farms Wedding ~ Wedding Photography

Sara asked me to photograph her wedding it seems, just seconds after I found out she and Brent got engaged. Sara and I have some mutual friends and she has seen the work I've done for them. Naturally I was thrilled when she contacted me but I was even more thrilled when I found out more details about her wedding.
I love all types of weddings, I love the details, the emotion, the details, the fun, THE DETAILS :-) you get the idea. But I have a soft spot for outdoorsy, casual, relaxed and laid back style weddings. Maybe it's because I was married in the Adirondaks and had a very laid back vibe to my wedding as well.
Well Sara told me her wedding was going to be at Lakeside Farms in Ballston Lake, she said it was, "Rustic"- I said, "Amazing"!
I know I went major overboard with this blog- I simply couldn't help myself. The details of this wedding were right up my alley and I loved every second of this wedding day!

We started bright and early at The Envy Loft with the fabulous Regan!

And then it was back to the hotel to get their makeup done and get dressed!! A friend of the family did the amazing makeup job on Sara, her sister and her mother!

Here's where I go a little crazy- the amazing bright shoes, the linen dress perfect for a hot day, the jewelry, I went a bit ga-ga!!

Off in the limo- we hit up Congress Park for their "First Look". I've said it before, but I love when couples decide on a First Look. We get more time taking photos, they get more time with their guests and, come on, I love them- the expressions of the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time--just priceless!!

Then we headed to Lakeside Farms for the ceremony. It was a very hot day but the sky was an amazing bright blue and the ceremony was simple and short- very beautiful.

Inside the "rustic" decor was beautiful. A different floral centerpiece for each long table- brilliant!! Check these flowers out too- they're beautiful and like I've never seen before.

After the food was served and the cake was cut, the party broke loose! What a fun group of people and the dancing went on all night long with the help of Kenny Casanova of The DJ Service !!

Oh and look who it is...a future A. Hedges Photography bride and groom- keep an eye out for Melissa and Michael in 2012! :-)

The final dance of the day...so sweet, peaceful, I can almost hear Sara sighing- she pulled off a fabulous wedding!!

Phew that was a mega blog post but I just didn't want to leave anything out!! Congratulations Brent and Sara, I obviously thought your wedding was the bomb and I'm so glad you asked me to be there to capture every moment! Best wishes....
