The most picturesque fall day in the Catskills... it really couldn't have been more perfect. This wedding reminded me a lot of my own wedding so I was in my glory! A weekend affair of food, family, friends all there together to celebrate Luke and Kate.
I had only met Kate a couple times prior to the wedding day. At the farmers market, if I remember correctly, one of my favorite places in the whole world and I'm assuming hers as well- Luke and Kate are quite the foodies! I have known Luke however, for what seems like a lifetime. He is the younger brother of one of my oldest friends and my fond memories of him and that family are limitless.
I was thrilled to the core when I was asked to photograph this wedding at The Full Moon Resort in Big Indian New York. The drive was amazing- winding through the mountains and the country, passing through Woodstock. The trip itself was an experience and it set my mood for the day. Laid back, full of love and simply gorgeous would pretty much sum it up!
Welcome to The Full Moon Resort.....
The prep took place in these cabins set apart from the main grounds. Nestled in the woods on a warm fall day....
Lukes ring is a mix of wood and metal from Joyelle's Jewelers - I have never seen a ring like this before and I was smitten by it! Such a perfect choice for a craftsman like Luke.
And the florals by Jarita's were stunning. Ornamental kale, in a bouquet--who would have thought?!?! And it was so beautiful!!
Let's meet Kate...
So absolutely gorgeous- she was a stunning bride!
And Luke looked pretty handsome himself, and I don't mind saying so! Not the little kid I remembered from years ago, that's for sure!
The ceremony site was a small grove next to a stream surrounded by tall pines. It was magical to say the least!
I got to spend quite a bit of time with Luke and Kate after the ceremony which made me so very happy! The scenery was breathtaking and I wanted to take advantage of it all. Check out the killer formals we were able to create!
I'd like to personally thank Kate's brother for assisting me during the formals- carrying my gear, bouquets and drinks... you were a lifesaver :-)
And then the reception. Don't let the "white tent reception" fool you. This was an extrememly elegant affair- ever last detail was perfect!! And the dancing....there was dancing and a lot of it. Everyone was letting loose and having such a great time!
A few more nighttime images to finish up the evening!!
I am so happy for Luke and Kate. As they begin their married life together I wish them love, ease and happiness for the rest of their lives. Thank you for having me there to capture your day!
