"Here's to the nights that turned into mornings with the friends that turned into family" - Unknown
Kodi emailed me a few months back with this idea...she had a few old friends who have found themselves scattered around in different areas of the country. She wanted to have a girls weekend with them and while they were together she wanted to schedule a photo session...ummmm brilliant!
I kept having scenes from Sex and the City run through my head as I prepared for their session. Four gorgeous gals, full of energy and giggles...this was definitely one of my all time favorite Just Because sessions.
We started out at my house to get warmed up (literally because it was about negative 100 degrees and windy that day, but also to get used to being in front of my camera). But as you can see from these short mini sessions- these ladies needed no warming up. They were all total rockstars and in only about 10 minutes a piece, they all got individual shots that are totally frame worthy!
First is Kodi...the one with the vision and who organized this session. Let me start by saying I could have spent a full session with each and every one of them...too bad we didn't schedule a full weekend session :)
And Marisa....Marisa almost didn't get her individual photo taken...can you believe this??? These are beautiful!!!
Mandy gave me a little sass- I love it!! And her blue eyes are amazing!!
Jen was a total natural in front of the camera and made my job so easy :)
It was time to leave the warmth of my house and brave the cold. This day's weather was crazy. I woke up and it was calm and sunny. Then we had a quick total white out- blustery snow storm and then it was grey, cold and WINDY! We were still able to get some great stuff though- these girls were so much fun!! And this wall mural- I'm obsessed...my new favorite!
I even got them to do a few more shots alone!! They loved this I can tell :)
The sun came out briefly so I took advantage and got some sweet shadow and sun flare shots
Did I mention it was windy!??? :-)
So yea, they surprised me with these white balloons--I LOVE a good prop!
When I asked if they had any ideas or suggestions for a photo- they had only one request...
What a blast!!
Ok warning!!! I'm about to get a little mushy now. I think everyone with girlfriends should have this done. Not only is it just something fun to do with your besties- like a girls night out on steroids, but now they have these images forever!! How precious will these photos be in 50 years?? They're going to sit around someday down the road together, very fashionable senior citizens, wine glasses in hand, reminiscing about their youth, their lifelong friendship and the crazy day they had together holding up traffic in the middle of town. Seriously, I'm getting choked up thinking about it!! It's that kind of stuff that makes me proud of what I do for people. This session was so special.
