Michele and I have had quite some time to get to know each other. And from speaking with her other vendors they have too...everyone said about two years ;-) Michele is organized, efficient and thorough, as any good attorney should be and Brandon is patient, laid back and supportive, as any good attorney's spouse should be. Ok, ok I tease, but I'm not kidding you when Michele and Brandon booked me two years prior to their wedding.
I met Michele when she hired me to do a portrait session with her, and after seeing those images she knew she wanted me to photograph her wedding. In two years from then. In Oswego. Only 18 months after I had started my photography business and with only 3 weddings under my belt. I seriously thought she had lost her mind!
I met Brandon for the first time when I photographed their engagement session at Yaddo last summer. He is simply the most friendly, laid back, easy to talk to person!! He knew how important the photos were to Michele and he trusted me, my vision and my ideas. He was also involved with the hiring process two years ago- so perhaps he's lost his mind as well.... or he just really truly loves Michele. I believe it's the latter!!
But over the 2 years, I was there every step of the way. Michele and I enjoy emailing each other--often. Sometimes multiple times a day. We talked a lot about the wedding- timelines, my advice on details and other wedding related things. But we also spoke about personal things- exercise, family, professional opportunities. So needless to say, when the wedding day finally rolled around, I felt like I was about to witness two friends get married.
And well, in all reality, I was.
Driving up to Bayshore Grove for the first time, I was giddy!!
We had lots of time that day before the ceremony. I was able to spend some time with both Michele and Brandon separately before their first look!
Michele did a first look, not only with Brandon but also her Dad--so sweet!!
Off to the ceremony.....
And this....get your Pinterest buttons ready....this is the most amazing first kiss I've ever even heard of! The moment Michele and Brandon sealed their vows with a kiss- lighting. Yes, LIGHTING struck the lake behind them. A sign of a very electric love if you ask me!!
The setting we were able to use was nothing short of amazing. We had a variety of backdrops to choose from. And because we had set aside so much time for photos we took advantage of every last opportunity!!
And last but not least- the party. People danced all night long to the very last song. And let me tell you- the last dance brought happy tears to my eyes. All of Michele and Brandon's friends and family gathered around them, singing Piano Man. Everyone was carefree, loving the newlyweds and Michele and Brandon were simply blissful!!
And even in the dark, Bayshore Grove is picture perfect! Thank you so very much, Michele and Brandon, for trusting me and including me in your wedding day. The day was magical! I wish you the best :-)
